Tips for a Baby Gift Basket Loaded with Goodies

Are you looking for some creative ideas for a baby shower present? You should consider some homemade gift basket ideas to surprise the new mom. This can be a delightful surprise full of useful and charming goodies. Rather than opening just one gift, she can spend some time admiring a variety of cute and useful baby products.

Decide if you want to buy a ready made baby gift basket that's fully assembled and all done up, or whether you want to make your own personalized and meaningful basket.

Baby gift baskets are a fun and easy thing to do. Your first requirement is a good sized basket, which can be plain and simple or prettily decorated. Select a variety of small baby items, both practical and cute. They don't have to be expensive, so you can really make this an economical present. The greatest consideration is the amount of time you spend putting it together.

When selecting a basket, you might want to get a plain one and paint it yourself. For something special, choose a basket decorated with a baby theme. Use a receiving blanket to line the basket and place your main item in the center. This should be your largest item, for example a teddy bear or bunny. Display a few smaller gifts around this. Items like bibs, washcloths, teething rings and soft toys are all great ideas.

Try using a theme for the gift basket as an extra special touch. For instance, you could make a bath time basket holding a few bath toys, a bath support, some baby soap and shampoo, and lotion. Add an adorable hooded baby bath towel.

To wrap up the baby gift basket, use some cellophane. There are lots of gift baskets that you can get in adorable patterns. Tie it up with a large bow in a pastel shade, and add a greeting card.

A simpler approach is to find a ready made baby gift basket already assembled and wrapped. If you're creatively challenged, this will save you some stress as well as time. You can find gift baskets either at a retail store or on the internet. The internet gift basket stores usually have a huge selection of charming themes, from Baby Einstein to cookie bouquets. Many of these baskets even allow for personalization.

As shower presents go, a baby gift basket is certain to have a special impact. The new mom will be thankful for the thought you put into the gift and will also make good use of the contents.

Within the past six week, I have attended two baby showers for the wives of my nephews. We played the usual baby shower games and ate delicious chicken salad sandwiches and cake. But the most fun at a baby shower is the opening of the presents–all those special items chosen specifically for the little one to come. I must say that the presents that I brought with me were clever and the moms really appreciated the unique gift baskets. My son has recently begun his own gift basket business at http://www.adamsbasketcase.com, and I simply ordered the gift baskets to come to my house, and I took them to the baby shower. One that I especially liked was in a baby bassinet with adorable baby clothes, baby lotions, toys, blankets, etc.; another was a baby bath tub filled with everything for the baby’s bath, including a tiny robe and yellow rubber ducks. By giving a baby gift basket, I had the pleasure of giving something extremely clever and cute, but I didn’t have to take the time to look at several different stores to put a gift basket together–the work was all done for me. During these busy days, it is nice to have a convenient way to gift shop, knowing that these special gift baskets still let my loved ones know how special they are.
